In History, the children have been learning about the Ancient Maya. We have been researching what they ate and how they successfully grew their own crops due to their accurate calendars. The children have learned that maize (corn) was a very important crop and they used this to make different food. One food being tortillas. The children made their own tortillas and tried them with salsa dips, just like they did back then. Most children loved the tortillas! Great cooking Year 5.
