Article 31 – Every child has the right to play, relax and take part in a wide range of activities.
Shortly after we arrived, we had a walk around Beamish to see what it was like. We visited the pit village and decided to go have a look at the miners’ cottages to see how they were designed and how they used to live back then. We visited the farm and had a look in some of the 1940s farm houses. Inside the school, we completed a sentence by writing on a slate: the school teacher judged who had the best handwriting.
We are all dying to sleep in our tents and have already set them up.
