Article 4 - Governments must do all they can to make sure every child can enjoy their rights by creating systems and passing laws that promote and protect children’s rights.

On Tuesday afternoon, we had a visit from Northumbria Police.  After Adam and Chris spoke to us about their different roles within the community, we tried on some of their equipment including hats, handcuffs and batons.

Halfway through the visit, we were greeted with a surprise from a dog handler.  He introduced us to his different dogs with some information about each of them.

Mila, the spaniel, was trained to sniff out mobile phones and drugs.

Fox, the Belgian Malinois, comes from a long line of police dogs.  He hasn't started his training yet as he's only 10 months old but he will begin this next year.

At the end of the visit, the children went to the Police Dog Van and saw Chip (a current working Belgian Malinois), Fox (the puppy, who was accompanied by a retired search dog) and Mila.  Some of the children were able to stroke Mila.
