Riot Police Visit

Published: 11 Feb '25

Article 17 -   Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand.

For this month's mini-police visit, Northumbria police attended school with some of their riot equipment and a riot van.  After discussing the circumstances in which the equipment would be used, some children dressed up in it, whilst all children were encouraged to strike the riot shields with batons before being given the opportunity to sit in the cage in the back of the police van.
