Reading for Pleasure in the Early Years Jun 11, 2024

Article 28: Every child has the right to an education.

This week the children in the Nursery have enjoyed exploring a range of different materials linked to the books they have been observing and learning about. The children have explored the key traditional tale ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ in the setting. In addition the pupils have greatly enjoyed reading a range of books in the the cosy reading den areas. The children have added fabric, role play babies and puppets to their book play. The Nursery has placed a range of key texts, stories and reading sacks in the classroom for the children to explore further. Through play dough and porridge oats, the children have retold and acted out their own versions of the story. Their own story retelling and acting out has been wonderful to hear.

Please continue to read daily at home and enjoy your Nursery Library reading for pleasure books in your reading bags for home.

Thank you to all parents and carers who have supported the Nursery lending library this term.
