Today, in Reception, we celebrated World Book Day by dressing in our pyjamas and some of us came dressed as characters. First, the children began the day with sharing stories with their friends as they first entered the classroom. Then, we had a World Book Day Assembly where the children learnt about their world book token they could spend on books. They also learnt about all the wonderful things we were going to do today. Throughout the day, we had ‘story stops’ where we turned off all the lights, used the torches and read some of our favourite stories. The children also made bookmarks, book covers and puppets from their favourite books. Finally, to finish off a wonderful day, we read with the year 4 children and shared our library books. The Year 4’s were brilliant with Reception and we can’t wait to read again with them soon. We have had such a fun filled day!
