Article 28: Every child has the right to an education.

This year the Nursery team have been taking part in an action research project to explore further the theme and importance of Early Years Block Play. The Nursery is resourced with a range of Community Block Play large, medium and small blocks. The staff team have worked closely with all of the groups of children to develop their confidence in using a range of blocks in their own play and role play. Staff have spent time explicitly modelling how to play with a range of blocks and role play materials. This week the children accessed a range of materials and fabrics to develop their block play skills further. Using black drapes and fabrics the children added a pirate make believe extended narrative to their own play.
