Article 12 – Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them.

Following on from yesterday’s general election, we decided to hold our own elections at Birtley East today. Everyone gathered in the school hall and listened to speeches from prospective head boys and head girls for 2024-2025. Following this, we proceeded to the polling station, where each child voted for the new head boy and head girl from September. In addition to this, we voted next year’s school councillors too. All of the votes were cast in ballot boxes and the collected and counted by Year 6. The results will be announced this afternoon.
